Is Cerakote Services certified by NIC Industries?

Yes, we are certified to apply cerakote under our parent company, Omaha Outdoors.

Can Cerakote Services accept firearms?

Yes, we are an FFL 07.

Do you have gunsmiths onsite?

All of our gunsmiths can disassemble and assemble your firearm.

What is a cerakote?

Cerakote is a unique finish option that is applied as a liquid and hardens to a ceramic-like substance. As a ceramic-based coat, it provides superior corrosive resistance and delivers exceptional protection from abrasions. You can read more at our What Is Cerakote page.

How is my cerakote applied?

Cerakote Services uses only certified technicians to apply the coat to your project. In the case of a firearm, that technician carefully disassembles the parts and applies the coat to the necessary pieces. Once it is complete, our gunsmith reassembles it and inspects it for precision.

Will this coat interfere with the functioning of my firearm?

When a new finish is applied, our technicians put your weapon through a function test. This ensures that it does not interfere with the operation of your weapon in any way.

How long will this new finish last?

This ceramic coat is extremely tough and durable, if applied correctly. Under normal conditions, it should last for many years. In fact, many report using a cerakoted model as their everyday carry pistol and noticing zero negative impact on the finish after years of use.

What is the turnaround time for a standard cerakote finish?

During normal production periods, we can have a coat applied within 2 to 4 weeks from the time we receive your firearm. If we are experiencing higher than normal demand, we will do our best to inform you and give you a custom timetable.

What is the turnaround time for a custom finish?

While standard finishes take 3 to 6 weeks during normal demand periods, custom finishes could take longer depending on the complexity of the job. If you have a specific idea in mind, you should contact us to get an individual estimate.

Can I mix and match colors?

Absolutely! We have a broad spectrum of colors available to choose from and you have the freedom and mix and match them as you choose. We can apply one color to the frame, another to the slide. We can even work with three or more colors to create a unique pattern.

What about custom colors?

One of the unique advantages of working with cerakote is that the color combinations are virtually endless. We do have the ability to mix custom colors to create a more unique look for your firearm.

Is there a warranty on the finish?

All of our finishes are covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty. Within 12 months of your finish purchase, this ensures the gun is free from cracking, bubbling, fading, or other damage that might be caused due to an error in application. Keep in mind, this protects only from normal wear and tear, not from excessive abuse.

I put my gun through a torture test and the coat was damaged. Can I use the warranty?

Again, the warranty is to protect against normal wear and tear. So, if you put your weapon through a torture test, scrape it against a sharp object, or kick it across rocks, we will coat it again one time free of charge, within 12 months of delivery. Shipping costs are not included.

I sold my firearm to someone else. Will the 12 month workmanship warranty or redo, transfer to the new buyer?

At this time, no. You will need to active your free one time redo before you sell it.

How durable is a cerakote?

The reason we use this type of finish is because we have found it to be one of the most durable options on the market today. Not only does it offer unmatched protection from the elements and corrosive-resistance, but it also delivers a hard surface that can stand up to quite a bit of abuse. Whether its abrasiveness or other potentially harmful factors, your coat should hold up just fine and offer protection for many years to come.

Can you engrave a cerakoted model?

Yes. Our expert technicians have experience working with all variety of custom finishes. To ensure you get the best results, we can do both at once and provide you a more unique look.
